MInd Control = weapon control

Mind Control:
Many people feel a false sense of security by carrying a weapon. They feel that as long as they are armed, they are impervious to danger. The weapon is a false crutch and this is a deadly mistake.
The majority of people who are disarmed and lose control of their weapon (LEOs, military and civilians) do so because they try to deploy their weapon (knife, firearm…) while in a “defensive” and reactive Mindset; with no established control over the threat.

Before deploying any weapon, one MUST transition to an “Offensive” mindset. Weapons are not “defense tools”. They are an offensive tool used to protect you. Offensive tools only work when the user has an offensive mindset (re: has become the “action”), and has established some level of control.
This is a small yet critical element in Combatives training that is often overlooked and thus not trained. Flipping the switch to an Offensive Mindset affords some level of control; albeit a very small window. Only then should you try to deploy a weapon to neutralize a threat and open that window all the way.

Weapons are only tools; the mind is what needs to be under control.
