A Warrior's confidence

A note on Confidence and the Warrior:

I am re-reading one of my all-time favorite books and would like to share some of the insight proffered by the Authors:

Empowerment: Many folks seek out quick fix “empowerment” tools to help them make decisions in life. There are no shortage of TV shows, CDs, DVD, programs out there to help one feel; empowered.  However, “if you have to feel empowered to do the tough thing, the brave thing, then you are never going to be someone who does the brave thing when necessary.”

Confidence and Courage related to Discipline: Discipline can be and needs to be a constant in your life, whereas courage can never be. Discipline will get you through the times when your courage fails. You do not have to have confidence to enter a fight (physical or otherwise). However, you must have the discipline to enter the fight and fight your hardest, all the way to the end.

Discipline in Training: Warrior train and push themselves past self-perceived limits all the time; not just when they feel good and the weather is perfect. “That is what true Warriors have; true confidence. Confidence (derived from steadfast discipline) that is born of experiences that have taught them that no matter how scared they may be – however unsure of themselves - to trust and follow their training.”
