More insight from Maxwell's "21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership" with my 2 cents added...:)
Being a Leader is a life-long process. It is all the work, dedication and perseverance that count. There is an old saying: “Champions don’t become champions in the ring – they are merely recognized there”. Meaning that all the road-work, bag-time, and effort is what made them a Champ.
However, all that hard work must be coupled with being able to identify an opportunity when it presents and to shine when the time to step in the ring comes. Benjamin Disraeli said that “the secret of success in life is for a man to be ready for his time when it comes.” You have to work hard to prepare and then shine when the time comes.
